Obverse description Cream-coloured letterpress note with a plain, utilitarian layout. The header bears the inscriptions COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES and Province of Negros Oriental, with the date March 1st, 1942 and SERIES OF 1942 at upper right; the central text declares PAY TO BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF FIVE CENTAVOS (PHILIPPINE CURRENCY), with the numeral 5 and CENTAVOS repeated in each corner. The lower portion carries a charge clause referencing the Provincial Treasurer of Negros Oriental and the Philippine National Bank, Bacolod Branch, with printed signature lines for the Provincial Auditor and the Provincial Treasurer.
