| Additional information |
Isla de la Juventud — formerly the Isle of Pines, renamed in 1978 — is a special municipality of Cuba that issued its own local coinage for use within the island's controlled economy, separate from national Cuban circulation. These aluminum pieces from the 2010s were produced for local exchange and remain largely unknown outside specialist collectors of Cuban exonumia. The X# prefix in standard references flags it as a non-circulating or locally-issued piece outside the mainstream national series.
