| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Liberty facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with laurel branches and flowing hair, rendered in the allegorical style of the Portuguese First Republic. The engraver's signature REGO GR appears incuse at the truncation of the bust.
