Obverse description The South African Coat of Arms is centrally displayed in high relief, featuring the secretary bird with outstretched wings surmounting a shield, with two San figures, a protea, a spear and knobkierie, and wheat ears forming the supporters. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms bears the inscription in the /Xam language of the Khoisan people.
