The infant Jesus, dressed in green robes and wearing golden sandals, gazes upward toward the Archangel Gabriel at upper left, who bears the cross and lance, while the Archangel Michael at upper right holds the vessel and sponge, symbols of the Passion. The Virgin's hands gently support the Child, whose sandal is loosely hanging from his foot.
