Ghana has no paleontological connection to mammoths — this is squarely a bullion product aimed at the international collector market, part of a wave of African-issued silver rounds that began proliferating after around 2015 as mints sought sovereign backing for competitive bullion programs. The Bank of Ghana's nominal authorization lends legal-tender status, but these were never intended for domestic circulation.
The .9999 fineness distinguishes it from the more common .999 silver standard.
