Reverse description Plain flat field with a central square hole flanked by two Chinese ideograms in Regular script (kaishu): one character above the aperture and one below. The upper character reads 邛 (Qiong, denoting the Qiongzhou mint) and the lower character reads 伍 (wu, meaning 'five', indicating the denomination of 5 cash). Both characters are cast in relief with a bold, utilitarian style, framed by plain inner and outer rims.
