| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast iron cash coin with a central square perforation, bearing four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (Kaishu) arranged in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, read clockwise from the top. The inscription 端平元寶 (Duanping Yuanbao) fills the fields between the inner and outer rims, with each character occupying one quadrant. The legends are bold and well-defined in relief against the flat field, consistent with Southern Song dynasty casting conventions. |
