Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin displaying the four-character reign legend 大中通寶 (Dazhong Tongbao) arranged in the traditional cruciform reading order — top, bottom, right, left — around a central square perforation. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) with bold, deeply cast strokes typical of early Ming-period coinage. A raised square rim (郭) surrounds the central hole, and a plain circular outer rim frames the field. The coin exhibits a dark patina with traces of green verdigris consistent with prolonged circulation and burial.
