| 备注 |
Bolivia's 1986 redenomination replaced the peso boliviano at a rate of one million to one — a direct consequence of the hyperinflation that had peaked the previous year at over 20,000 percent annually, one of the most severe episodes of its kind in twentieth-century Latin American history. The boliviano name itself was restored, having last been used before the 1963 currency reform.
Printing was contracted to Spain's Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre in Madrid, the same state institution responsible for Spanish coinage and official documents — an unusual but not unprecedented arrangement for a landlocked country with limited domestic printing capacity at the time.
