Obverse description	Printed in dark blue-grey on white paper, the obverse centres on a large guilloche underprint framing the denomination numeral '5', flanked at left by an oval vignette of the Bolivian state coat of arms and at right by an oval vignette of a tropical landscape with a tall palm tree. Three signature lines bear the titles 'Director del Tesoro Nacional', 'Ministro de Hacienda', 'Delegado Nacional', and 'Adhor. de Aduanas', with the American Bank Note Company, New York imprint at the foot. The heading 'VALE DE TESORERIA DE LA REPÚBLICA DE BOLIVIA' arches across the upper register, with a convertibility clause beneath.

Reverse description	The reverse, executed in the same dark blue-grey palette, presents two large guilloche rosettes each enclosing the numeral '5', flanking a central cartouche with the bold inscription 'REPÚBLICA DE BOLIVIA'. A rectangular text block below carries the authorising legislation of 29 November 1902 in full, and a fine lathe-work border frames the entire composition. The American Bank Note Company, New York imprint appears at the foot.
