Popis líce	The right-facing portrait of Emperor Haile Selassie I in full military uniform occupies the right portion of the note, while a vignette of Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa — with its terminal building and aircraft on the tarmac — fills the left. Printed in brown tones over a guilloche underprint, the note carries the issuer's name in both Amharic and English along the upper and lower borders, with serial numbers appearing in two positions.

Popis rubu	The crowned Lion of Judah, bearing a cross-topped sceptre, is centred within a circular guilloche medallion set against a radiating star motif and ornamental border. Symmetrical decorative panels flank the central vignette throughout the orange-red tonal scheme, with denomination inscriptions in Amharic appearing at the top corners and along the lower border.
