| 表面の説明 | Central field features the oval shield of Fribourg, divided horizontally with the upper half bearing a crosshatched or diaper pattern representing sable, and the lower half plain representing argent, set within an ornate cartouche flanked by foliate branches tied at the base. The shield is surmounted by a mural or civic crown. The circumferential legend CANTON FREYBURG runs along the periphery, separated from the toothed border by a raised rim. |

The Canton of Fribourg struck these pieces during the Mediation period, the interlude Napoleon imposed on Switzerland between 1803 and 1813 after dissolving the Helvetic Republic. Fribourg operated as a nominally restored cantonal authority under French oversight, and its coinage reflected that uneasy autonomy — locally issued but constrained by French monetary policy that would ultimately render much of it obsolete within years of striking.
Production ceased by 1814 as the Confederation reorganized following Napoleon's collapse at Leipzig.
