| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned arms of Canton Lucerne — a vertically divided shield with horizontal lines on the dexter half and a plain sinister half — flanked on either side by ornate sprays of acanthus-like foliage. The canton name legend CANTON LUZERN arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1816 appearing in the exergue below the shield. The crown above the shield is rendered in fine relief with decorative pearling detail. The coin's outer border is defined by a continuous reeded rim. |

| Reverse description | The denomination 5. / BATZ. is boldly inscribed in two lines at the center of the field, enclosed within a wreath composed of laurel and olive branches tied at the base, rendered in detailed relief. The pious Latin motto DOMINE CONSERVA NOS IN PACE (Lord, preserve us in peace) curves along the upper periphery as the primary legend, separated from the central device by a plain inner border. The overall composition is symmetrical and characteristic of early nineteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. A reeded outer rim frames the design. |
