Reverse description The denomination '5 BATZ.' is boldly inscribed in two lines at the centre of the field, with the date enclosed within a cartouche below, all encircled by a finely engraved laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon. The peripheral legend 'DOMINE CONSERVA NOS IN PACE' (Lord, keep us in peace) runs continuously around the upper and lateral portions of the coin, separated from the wreath by a narrow border. The overall composition is characteristic of the restrained neoclassical style employed in early nineteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage.
