Obverse description Printed in violet-grey tones, the obverse carries a portrait of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) in military uniform at the left, with a central vignette of a royal monument or palace gateway flanked by decorative pillars. The Thai state emblem appears at the top centre, with serial numbers in two positions across the upper field. A manuscript signature of the minister appears below the central vignette, and the denomination 'ห้าบาท' is inscribed in Thai script.
