The obverse carries the Portuguese armillary sphere and coat of arms vignette at upper left, with Chinese characters for the denomination at centre-left and in the lower-right corner cartouche. A red overprint reading PAGAVEL EM TIMOR is applied diagonally across the centre, with the denomination panel CINCO AVOS printed in white on a dark brown ground below it. A manuscript signature of the Gerente appears at lower right. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed in brown and presents a large central guilloche medallion bearing the numeral 5 and the inscription CINCO AVOS within a scalloped frame, surrounded by radiating lathe-work. Floral ornaments flank the central vignette on either side, and the issuer's name BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO appears across the top border flanked by the word MACAU on both sides. Chinese characters reading 大西洋國海外理銀行 run along the lower portion of the design, above a bold red overprint PAGAVEL EM TIMOR applied across the bottom of the note. |
