Obverse description A cluster of three ripe pomegranates rendered in a stylised, modernist manner occupies the central field, their rounded forms shown in close grouping with short stems visible at the top. The bilingual legend naming the issuing state appears to the left in Arabic script and along the lower portion of the field in Hebrew characters. The design is set within a plain, unadorned border typical of Israeli coinage of the period.
