| Opmerkingen |
Seðlabanki Íslands was established in 1961, the same year this note entered circulation, replacing the Landsbanki Íslands as Iceland's central bank and sole issuing authority. The changeover was administrative rather than chaotic — existing Landsbanki notes remained legal tender — but the new series printed by De La Rue marked a clean institutional break.
Jóhanna Nordal, one of the two signatories here, would go on to serve as Governor of the Central Bank from 1994 to 2005, making her earlier appearance on this note something of a footnote to a long career in Icelandic monetary affairs.
