| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is centred on an intaglio portrait of Ragnheiður Jónsdóttir, the celebrated 17th-century Icelandic embroidery artist, rendered in fine line engraving and set against a multicolour guilloche underprint in green, orange, and blue. The denomination 5000 appears in numerals at upper left and in large stylised Icelandic text FIMM ÞÚSUND KRÓNUR at centre right, with a small roundel vignette of three children in period costume at upper right. The issuing authority inscription SEÐLABANKI ÍSLANDS, two facsimile signatures, and the legal tender clause SAMKVÆMT LÖGUM NR. 10, 29. MARS 1961 are arranged across the lower portion of the note. |
