At centre, a diamond-shaped vignette encloses a letterpress view of a Nuremberg tower and adjoining medieval structures. Red overprint numerals '5'000,000' appear at left and right centre. A serial number in red (prefix B) is printed at top centre, and the revalidation date 'Nürnberg, 22. Aug. 1923' with the city seal and abbreviated authority 'Stadt. rat.' appears at bottom centre, flanked by two facsimile signatures.
