| Reverse description | Green-tinted reverse retains the original 500 Mark underprint numerals in all four corners, each crossed by a red horizontal bar overprint. At centre, a diamond-shaped vignette encloses a letterpress view of a Nuremberg tower and adjoining medieval structures. Red overprint numerals '5'000,000' appear at left and right centre. A serial number in red (prefix B) is printed at top centre, and the revalidation date 'Nürnberg, 22. Aug. 1923' with the city seal and abbreviated authority 'Stadt. rat.' appears at bottom centre, flanked by two facsimile signatures. The printer's imprint 'Zerreiss & Co., Nürnberg' is at lower right. |
