| Obverse description | Printed in brown on cream paper by letterpress in a cheque-style format, the note is enclosed within a decorative border of floral and guilloche ornaments running along all four edges. A narrow vertical stub panel at left bears the issuer name MANNESMANN-MULAG (MOTOREN UND LASTWAGEN-AKT.-GES.) and is overprinted diagonally in bold black with the legend Nur zur bargeldlosen Verrechnung. The central field carries the heading Gutschein with a serial number at upper right, the denomination Mark 5 000 000 in large display type, the verbal equivalent Fünf Millionen Mark below, the date Aachen, den 14. Aug. 1923, a manuscript signature at lower right, and the printer's imprint A. Willems & Co., Aachen at foot. |
