Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large central vignette, rendered in a fine engraving style, presenting a panoramic view of Marburg with the Lahn bridge in the foreground, the historic university buildings in the middle ground, and the Landgrafenschloss (Marburg Castle) rising on the hill behind. The central image is enclosed within a rectangular frame, itself surrounded by an elaborate foliate guilloche border running the full perimeter of the note.
