| Obverse description | Olive-brown Notgeld note with a bold guilloche underprint border carrying repeated numeral '5' and '5000000' denominations. A central rectangular vignette, framed by fine-line geometric borders, carries the large numeral '5' flanked by two circular medallions — one bearing crossed hammers (industrial emblem) and one bearing the Duisburg civic arms. Below the numeral, the denomination 'MILLIONEN MK.' is printed in bold letterpress, followed by a text clause naming the Stadthauptkasse and städtische Sparkasse as paying agents. The date 'DEN 15. AUGUST 1923' and the issuing authority 'DER OBERBÜRGERMEISTER' with a manuscript countersignature appear at the lower centre, while a red circular Stadt Duisburg official stamp is applied to the lower left.
