| Obverse description | Olive-green letterpress emergency note (Aushilfsschein) with a dense guilloche border framing the entire face. Ornate cartouches at left and right each carry the numeral '5000000' in white relief against a foliate rosette underprint, while the denomination 'Fünf Millionen Mark' is set in bold Gothic blackletter across the centre. The issuing authority text, date of 28 August 1923, two manuscript countersignatures, and the circular seal of the Finanzdeputation Hamburg appear in the lower portion, with the printer's imprint of H. O. Persiehl at foot. |
