| Opmerkingen |
Yugoslavia's hyperinflation of 1992–94 was among the worst recorded in history, peaking at a monthly rate exceeding two million percent in January 1994. This 5,000,000 dinar note was rendered effectively worthless within weeks of issue — often before it reached the end of the distribution chain. The Narodna Banka was printing denominations that doubled or tripled in face value every few months, with ZIN running shifts around the clock to keep up with demand that no press output could realistically satisfy.
The series was superseded by the "novi dinar" reform of January 24, 1994, in which one novi dinar was exchanged at a rate of 1,000,000,000 old dinars — a ratio that rendered virtually every note from this period a rounding error.
