To the left, an oval vignette portrays a crowned, bearded emperor — traditionally identified as Charlemagne — set against fine lathe-work. The denomination '5 Milliarden' is printed in large ornate script across the centre-right, above the numeral '5 000 000 000' in a guilloche panel at lower left. | Beschrijving keerzijde | Printed in grey-green on plain paper, the reverse carries a central vignette of an industrial panorama — a factory complex with tall chimneys and buildings rendered in fine line engraving — flanked by decorative plant motifs at either side. A cartouche at the bottom centre encloses the denomination '5 MILLIARDEN' in bold capitals above the issuer legend 'STADT- UND LANDKREIS AACHEN'. Denomination counters '5 Milliarden' appear in scalloped panels at the upper left and upper right corners, all within a continuous guilloche frame. |
