| Obverse description | Blue letterpress note with a guilloche border enclosing the entire face. To the left, an oval vignette portrays a crowned, bearded emperor — traditionally identified as Charlemagne — set against fine lathe-work. The denomination '5 Milliarden' is printed in large ornate script across the centre-right, above the numeral '5 000 000 000' in a guilloche panel at lower left. A red-framed overprint panel at the far left reads the validity clause for the Regierungsbezirk Aachen; two circular official seals of the city and district flank the manuscript signatures of the Oberbürgermeister and the Vorsitzende des Kreisausschusses above the serial number. |
