| Obverse description | Laureate and armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately decorated armor, occupying the central field. The portrait is rendered in a robust late Renaissance style typical of Habsburg Kipper-period coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the bust, reading FERDINANDVS II D G I S AV G H B REX, identifying the emperor by name, title, and his roles as King of Hungary and Bohemia. The lettering is set within a beaded or plain inner border. The overall engraving reflects the hurried production characteristic of Kipper-period emergency coinage. |
