正面描述	Facing bust of Pope John Paul II occupying the right half of the inner silver-toned disc, rendered in low relief with clerical collar visible. To the upper left, a commercial jet aircraft is depicted in flight above a cursive French-language memorial inscription reading «L'Afrique se souvient de Toi, Jean-Paul II» with the engraver's monogram «AM» below. The brass outer ring bears the legend 4500 CFA 2007 * REP. CENTRAFRICAINE * 14 AOUT 1985, the date referring to the Pope's pastoral visit to the Central African Republic.
