At the apex of the wreath, a radiant IHS christogram within a circular medallion serves as a crowning device, reflecting Geneva's Protestant tradition. The date 1831 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by the mint master's initials L and F with two decorative stars. The peripheral legend POST TENEBRAS LUX — the motto of the Genevan Reformation — encircles the composition, separated from the beaded border by a raised rim. |
