Obverse description Square bimetallic coin with a large brass centre disc set within a copper-nickel outer ring. The brass centre features the arms of Somaliland — a scale of justice flanked by an eagle and encircled by a laurel wreath — struck within the disc. A dove carrying an olive branch is depicted in relief in the upper-left portion of the copper-nickel field, while two clasped hands appear at lower left, together symbolising peace. A diagonal band crosses the brass centre. The legend REPUBLIC OF SOMALILAND arcs along the top of the outer field, with PEACE inscribed above the centre disc, the date 2005 at the bottom of the disc, and the denomination 400 SOMALILAND SHILLINGS along the lower margin.
