400 Roubles Urals Cossack Territory

The Ural Cossack Army issued its own currency in 1918 as the Host government in Uralsk asserted administrative independence during the Russian Civil War. The notes circulated within a territory that was simultaneously fighting Bolshevik forces and negotiating, uneasily, with competing White factions. The 400-rouble denomination is among the higher values in the series — an unusual figure that reflects ad hoc fiscal decisions rather than any standardized emission policy.

The Host was effectively surrounded and under sustained military pressure by late 1919, and most of this currency lost practical value well before the final collapse of Uralsk in January 1920.
