| 裏面の説明 | The reverse reproduces in finely engraved high relief a central scene adapted from Velázquez's celebrated painting 'El triunfo de Baco' (The Triumph of Bacchus, c. 1629, Museo del Prado), depicting the god Bacchus, crowned with vine leaves and seated at left, surrounded by a group of common revellers holding cups and vessels. Wine jugs and a bowl are rendered in the lower foreground, emphasizing the convivial theme. The composition faithfully captures the naturalistic Baroque style of the original canvas. The legend EL TRIUNFO DE BACO is inscribed along the lower arc within an ornamental scrollwork border matching that of the obverse. |

Spain's FNMT has issued commemorative gold pieces tied to Prado holdings before, but the Velázquez series carries particular institutional weight — the Prado celebrated its bicentenary in 2019, and this ongoing program extends that anniversary's cultural momentum into the mid-2020s. Los Borrachos, painted around 1628–1629, was one of Velázquez's first mythological commissions from Philip IV, executed when the painter was still in his mid-twenties and consolidating his position at court.
