Obverse description The obverse features a detail from Jheronimus Bosch's triptych 'El carro de heno' (The Hay Wain), painted circa 1515 and held in the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid. The central scene from this work occupies the field, rendered with fine engraving that captures the complex allegorical imagery characteristic of Bosch's style. The legend EL BOSCO arcs along the upper right periphery in a descending clockwise direction. The inscription ESPAÑA appears as part of the coin's identifying legend, accompanied by the date 2016.
