Notable landmarks and regions are labelled, including Venice (Venedik), Istanbul, Ankara, Anatolia, Bukhara, Samarkand, Kashgar, Persia, Ahmedabad, the Taklamakan Desert, the Gobi Desert, Kyrgyzstan, and China, with camels, caravans, historic buildings, and sailing vessels depicted along the route. A decorative scroll in the lower field bears the inscription SILK ROAD, while the upper scroll reads 2000 YILLIK EKSPEDİSYON İPEK YOLU.
