| Obverse description | Youthful draped bust of Louis XV facing right, with long flowing curly hair falling over the shoulder, rendered in a refined baroque style. The effigy is uncrowned and undiademed, consistent with early portraits of the young king. A six-petalled rosette appears below the bust as a decorative separator. The circular Latin legend reads LVD . XV . D . G . FR . ET . NAV . REX, denoting the king's title by the grace of God as King of France and Navarre.
