Opmerkingen

The "Zaym Svobody" — Liberty Loan — notes were originally issued by the Provisional Government in Petrograd in 1917 as war bond instruments rather than conventional currency. The Samara Directory designation marks a later stage: after the Bolshevik coup, the Committee of Members of the Constituent Assembly (Komuch) established control over Samara in 1918 and authorized use of these already-printed Petrograd notes within its territory, effectively recycling Provisional Government paper as its own circulating medium.

Komuch's hold on Samara lasted only a few months before Red Army forces retook the city in October 1918.
