Obverse description Central field features the crowned Portuguese royal arms — a shield bearing the five quinas (escutcheons) of Portugal — flanked on either side by the numeral '20' rendered in large, bold characters denoting the original face value, the whole composition enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A crown surmounts the shield at the top of the design. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, and the date 1761 appears prominently in the lower field beneath the shield.
