| Obverse description | Central field bears a large Ottoman tughra of Sharif Husayn bin Ali, the calligraphic imperial monogram rendered in intricate Arabic script. A rectangular Al-Hejaz countermark in Arabic is applied to the host coin, reading 'الحجاز' (Hejaz), attesting to the coin's revalidation for Hejazi circulation. The design retains elements of the original Ottoman host coin, including floral and foliate decorative motifs in the field. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed or beaded border. |
