Reverse description A large block letter M, serving as the Greek numeral denoting 40 nummi, dominates the central field. A six-pointed star is positioned to the left of the M and a crescent to its right, while a cross surmounts the M above. The officina letter A appears beneath the M, and the mint signature ANTX occupies the exergue, identifying the Antioch mint. The design follows the reformed follis type introduced by Anastasius I in 498 AD.
