| Obverse description | Plain white ground within a decorative typographic border of repeating geometric and dot motifs. The issuer name 'Gem. Meggenhofen' is set in large ornamental Gothic lettering at the top, followed by 'Gutschein über' and the denomination value 'Vierzig Hell.' in bold white letters on a dark stippled panel. To the upper right, an embossed circular municipality seal reads 'Gemeinde-Vorstenung Meggenhofen, Bez. Grieskirchen ob.' To the lower right, the mayor's facsimile signature appears above the printed title 'Der Bürgermeist.', while 'II.
