Obverse description The left portion of the note is occupied by a two-panel vignette printed in green and black, illustrating scenes from the Untersberg legend: at left, Emperor Charlemagne (Kaiser Karl der Große) seated in repose within an arched alcove, rendered in a bold Expressionist woodcut style, and at right a smaller female figure similarly enthroned in an arch. A green caption panel below the vignette bears the legend title and subject identification. The denomination and issuer text are set in large Gothic letterforms on the right half of the note against a brown ground, framed by a double-ruled border.
