| Opmerkingen |
Igls, a small village above Innsbruck, issued its own Notgeld in the early 1920s as part of the wider Austrian small-change crisis — metallic coin had all but vanished from daily life, and even rural Kurorten were forced to print their own emergency fractions. The Kurgemeinde designation is worth noting: Igls was classified as a spa and resort commune, not a municipal government in the ordinary sense, which makes it an unusual issuing authority even by Notgeld standards.
Wagner in Innsbruck handled a significant volume of Tyrolean Notgeld printing during this period. The 40 Heller denomination sits in the mid-range of the Igls series covered under Jaksch 0403e.
