Obverse description Central shield bearing the Saxon arms, flanked by elaborate foliate mantling, surmounted by a cherub displayed with wings spread. The date is divided to either side of the lower shield, with the denomination '40' inscribed in the legend at the base. The circular legend reads IOHAN GEORG D G DVX SAX C CLIV ET MONT, rendered in Latin capital letters.

Reverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in a trefoil composition, the central shield bearing the imperial eagle, flanked by two additional electoral arms, the entire group supported by two cherubs whose heads appear above the shields. The date 1621 is inscribed in the upper field between the cherubs. The surrounding circular legend, in Latin capital letters, reads SA ROMANI IMPERII ARCHIMARSCHALL ET ELECTOR.
