Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Charles X, King of France, facing right, with naturalistically rendered flowing hair and a classically proportioned profile, executed in the neoclassical style by engraver Jacques-Jean Barre. The circular legend CHARLES X ROI DE FRANCE arcs around the periphery, flanked by a beaded border. The engraver's signature BARRE.F. appears in small capitals at the base of the truncation. The portrait displays fine sculptural relief typical of early Restoration coinage, with careful attention to the king's physiognomy. This is a uniface pattern struck in tin, with only the obverse die applied.
