| Obverse description | Bare-headed laureate bust of King Louis-Philippe I facing left, with curly hair tied at the nape with a ribbon, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The engraver's signature DOMARD.F. appears in small capitals along the lower rim beneath the truncation. The circular legend reads LOUIS-PHILIPPE I to the left and ROI DES FRANÇAIS to the right, divided by the portrait.
