| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field displays the denomination 40 FRANCS in two lines of bold serif capitals, with the date below in Roman numerals Arabic numerals, and a small five-pointed star beneath, all within an ornate wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the base. The wreath is rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail, its branches sweeping symmetrically from a central point at the bottom to meet at the top. A fine beaded border frames the entire reverse design. The plain field within the wreath provides a strong contrast to the elaborate foliage surrounding it. |
