| 正面描述 | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of President Habib Bourguiba occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. A bilingual circular legend surrounds the bust, with the name HABIB BOURGUIBA in Latin script arching above and its Arabic equivalent الحبيب بورقيبة running along the upper periphery. The lower legend, equally bilingual, identifies the subject as President of the Tunisian Republic in both Arabic (رئيس الجمهورية التونسية) and French (PRESIDENT DE LA REP. TUNISIENNE), flanking the portrait on either side. |

Tunisia declared a republic on July 25, 1957, following the deposition of Muhammad VIII al-Amin — the last Bey of Tunis — just over a year after independence from France. This pattern was struck a decade later to mark that anniversary, almost certainly as a presentation or trial piece evaluating a proposed commemorative issue that never entered regular production. The KM pattern number remains unconfirmed, which itself suggests limited documentation and a very small striking.
Gold-plated bronze was the standard material for pattern trials of this period when full gold strikes were cost-prohibitive for exploratory issues.
