| Obverse description | Printed in dark ink on plain woven silk, the design is contained within a rectangular border of foliate and geometric ornamental work, with grain or wheat stalk vignettes flanking the central text panel on each side and decorative motifs at the upper corners. A wave-and-scroll guilloche band runs along the lower border. The central panel carries multi-line inscriptions in Chinese characters and Arabic script indicating the denomination and issuing authority, with the numeral 40 rendered in large characters to the right. |
